The short version
Flockshift is a single-player puzzle game. Play it, enjoy it, don't try to break it or resell it. It's free to download with thirty levels; an optional add-on pack adds forty-five more. It's provided as-is.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or playing Flockshift ("the game"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
2. Who may use it
You must be old enough to accept these terms where you live, or have permission from a parent or guardian. The terms of the store you downloaded from also apply — Apple's for the App Store, Google's for Google Play.
3. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the game; reverse-engineer or decompile it except where the law expressly permits; remove or alter any notices; or use it to build a competing product.
4. Price, advertising and purchases
Flockshift is free to download and includes thirty levels at no cost. It contains no advertising of any kind.
An optional in-app purchase unlocks an add-on pack of forty-five levels. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it is not required to finish the levels the game ships with. Further packs, if they are made, are sold the same way. Current pricing is shown in the App Store listing and inside the game, in your local currency.
All purchases are processed by the store you bought from, Apple or Google. We never see or handle your payment details. Refunds are that store's to grant under its own policy, not ours, though you are welcome to contact us if something has gone wrong and we will help where we can.
Because the purchase is tied to your Apple Account or Google Account rather than to a device, reinstalling the game or moving to a new device lets you restore it. The game provides a restore option for exactly this. A purchase made on one platform does not carry across to the other, because the two stores hold separate records.
5. No accounts
The game has no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress is stored on your device. If you delete the app, lose your device, or reset it, that progress is gone and we have no copy to restore. A purchase, unlike progress, can be restored through Apple.
6. Intellectual property
The game and everything in it — code, artwork, level designs, music, sound, the birds, and the Flockshift name and identity — belong to TechArtists and are protected by copyright and other laws. Your licence to play does not transfer ownership of any of it.
You are welcome to record, stream, and publish video of your own play, including monetised video, provided you do not present the game as your own work.
7. Updates and availability
We may update, change, or discontinue the game or any part of it at any time. We are not obliged to maintain any particular feature, and content described on this site may change before release. Levels may be added, retuned, or reordered in later versions.
8. Disclaimer
The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TechArtists is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of the game. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the game or ten US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.
10. Termination
This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may end it at any time by deleting the game.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes consumer rights that your local law grants you and does not allow to be waived.
12. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
